BUGS
----
Known Bugs
----------
Fortunately, none! Anyway, if you should find a bug, write me! If
possible, include a detailed description of the bug, please do not simply
write things like "It ain't running!". Please always state your system
configuration as well as the version number of the interpreter and the
story.
A note for Kickstart 1.3 - owners: You cannot run "The Timeless Empire I"
directly from Workbench. Instead, double-click the "Timeless Empire for
Kick 1.3" icon. It runs a script which starts the game via XIcon, then
everything should be fine. Before you put the blame on me: It's not my
fault, it's rather a bug in the compiler. It seems that my compiler
(Maxon C++) generates a startup-code that is not compatible with
Kickstart 1.3.
If you have Enforcer running on your system and it reports any hits,
please contact me! A few weeks ago, Enforcer reported two hits when I
left the game. These hits have no longer occurred since I turned a static
member function into a destructor.
I tested the game on the following systems:
- my good old Amiga 2000, 3 MByte RAM, 40 MByte harddisk, Kickstart 1.3
- my much better new Amiga 4000/040, 6 MByte RAM, 240 MByte harddisk,
Fastlane-controller, Toshiba CD-ROM, Amiga-OS 3.0
What to do if the game does not work correctly
----------------------------------------------
In case the game doesn't run on your system, please try the following:
- The game requires a very large stack! Set the stack-size via CLI-
command to 50000 bytes. Most crashes are caused by an insufficient
stack-size.
- Remove all programs which run in the background! If the game runs
then, it doesn't work together with another program - please inform
me!
- Try to run NoFastMem, when the game crashes or produces nonsens,
though the stack is sufficient. Ever since I loaded some of the datas
into chip-memory (which oddly had nothing to do with graphic or
sound) everything runs fine, but you'll never know...
Please write me in any case if the game works not correctly on your
system. The more detailed you describe the bug, the better! I want this
game to run as a multitask instead of disabling multitasking as most games
unfortunately do. And what's more annoying than a multitasking program
that crashes or does not work correctly together with other programs?
...not only bugs
----------------
Um... well... here's something embarrassing... What I mean are spelling
and grammatical mistakes, etc. My English is not very good, so whenever
you find such mistakes, or a sentence that wasn't well formulated, send
me the corrected passage, and I'll correct it immediately.
